Sapiro v. Ford: The Jew Who Sued Henry Ford tells the story of Aaron Sapiro, a Jewish lawyer who sued Henry Ford for libel in the 1920s. After Ford’s Dearborn Independent published antisemitic claims accusing Sapiro of a global conspiracy, Sapiro fought back in court. The film captures this landmark case.

Carol King is a Detroit native. After graduating from Western Michigan University, she joined the National Organization for Women (NOW) and was elected to numerous leadership positions including Michigan NOW President and serving on the National Board of Directors. She was inducted into the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame in 2008 in recognition of her contributions to women’s rights and equality.

Since moving to California in 1996, King worked as Executive Producer with her late husband, Michael Rose, in their documentary film company. After Michael’s death in 2020, Carol partnered with Gaylen Ross, a New York-based director to complete Sapiro v. Ford: The Jew Who Sued Henry Ford, a documentary she and her late husband had been developing for over a decade.

She is deeply grateful to be able to tell this little known, but historically significant story about one courageous man who had the courage to challenge the bigotry of the most famous antisemites in the country. This story resonates today, not just for Jews, but for all of us.
